Engineering Concepts

In these classes we have a clear focus on students learning the scientific and engineering principles that form the basis of the engineering disciplines. This programme is in essence a pre-engineering curriculum and contains elements of physics, mathematics, mechanics, electronics and computer programming.

Although the programme is more structured and contains more theory, it doesn’t depart from our core methodology and there is still a great amount of own discovery and actual building.

We strongly encourage that students (especially older students) attend some Engineering Concepts classes in addition to the Building Studio, as the Building Studio primarily serves as context and inspiration to master the fundamental scientific and engineering concepts presented in this programme.

The backbone of the course is a series of video lectures and video tutorials that student work through at their own pace. In addition to that are building projects, experiments and problems that need to be completed. As each student works at his/her own pace, different students will be working with different sections in the course at the same time. This means that there are no fixed start or end date for this programme.
